Does your family doctor treat you like family?

The overwhelm is real.

The last thing I wanted to do after getting home with my newborn was to leave the house. Ever again! Those days and weeks crawled by in many ways, but it was all too soon that I was supposed to be back at the hospital for a weight check. Or a lactation consultation. Or a heel stick!

Finally on my 5th baby, I was offered to have a midwife come to my house to accomplish all those things. I never imagined what peace that visit brought to me! I asked all my questions and voiced all my concerns (yep, even doctors have those!) in the comfort of my own home. I didn’t even both to clean up - she knew I just had a baby and had better things to do!

Now I want to offer that same peace to my patients.

Get the time you need with your doctor

Those first 12 weeks postpartum is sometimes called the fourth trimester - a woman’s body is going through just as many changes as she was during pregnancy to recover from the incredible thing she has just done!

A physician who is a mom (fives times over!), there for you in the comfort of your own home in these difficult weeks is worth the $500 pricetag for this unrepeatable time in your family’s life.

What will these visits be like?

After arranging a day and time that works for you and your family, Dr. Langley will come by with all the supplies she needs for an infant weight check, lactation assessment, vitals for mom and baby, newborn screening labs (heel stick), and short physicals for both. She will screen and follow-up on postpartum depression and anxiety disorders, delivery complications, breastfeeding difficulties, gestational diabetes, and hypertensive disorders. These are recommended to happen a few days postpartum, 1 week postpartum, 2 weeks postpartum, and 6 weeks postpartum; you also get a bonus visit included just for reassurance if you need it!

You can also reach Dr. Langley by email or text. And after you’ve recovered, you can continue the relationship you’ve built with a direct primary care membership.
